Oh, and best of all, easily running both supersonic and subsonic in the same rifle with absolutely no change in the gun. In fact, it is this latter capability that 300 BLK owners find most attractive. I am considering a 300 aac blackout upper for a change when in the mood. I know I could use the same upper to convert but I want to keep my 5.56. The 8.5″ barrel is 4150V Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel. It has a properly staked M16 bolt carrier, and the fit and finish is excellent. The aluminum hand guard is MLOK compatible with short sections of Picatinny on top for sights and or optics . People talk down about Radial like they are junk.
News people Radial pistol uppers are good to go for what they are designed to do. The only down side would be the barrels are 4140 so I would guess they won't hold up to high round counts. But at their price point I can buy a complete upper for the cost of a barrel from other name brands. I've found two options that I really like that come without barrels. These are high-end uppers that are designed for builders who really want to tweak their builds.
The end user will have to provide a barrel and gas system to the upper receiver to complete it. It's a Smith and Wesson product, what could really go wrong? This is as traditional an upper receiver as you'll get in the modern world. This is for a full-sized carbine and comes outfitted with a 16-inch barrel with a 1-7.5 inch twist, and a threaded muzzle.
Included is the Yankee Hill Phantom flash suppressor, which is a great touch. The PSA 16" .300 Blackout Upper Receiver sports 7075 T6 aluminum material and has an M4-type design. It is complete with a .300 Blackout bolt carrier group, forward assist, handguard, and a barrel. In addition, PSA built the bolt carrier group out of 158 carpenter steel and it has a rugged design with a fully automatic profile (even though it is only capable of semi-automatic firing in its existing configuration). We ain't no wealthy hobby farmers, this is our life, we live as a farming family. Also, you'll want to consider what muzzle devices you want to try out. Since we think a high quality .300 blackout does so well suppressed, we think a pistol upper with a threaded barrel is about the perfect way to get the best out of the round.

Very much thinking about a complete upper from PSA in 300 Blackout to slap on top of a Colt M4 receiver. Any legal requirements to consider since we live in the crazy state of MD? Also, does PSA make complete rifles which are good for MD? With the gas tube removed, you can unwind the barrel nut freeing the barrel from the upper receiver.
You can reuse the gas tube if its in good shape and the right length, and maybe even reuse the gas block as well assuming it works with your barrel and handguard. The whole package also weighs in at only 2.2 pounds without the bolt carrier group and the charging handle. In fact, that's just about the only downside about this upper receiver group is that you have to pay extra for the bolt carrier group and the charging handle, which bumps up the price by about $220. The gun has a monolithic upper; it adds rigidity and keeps the upper and handguard as one unit. The benefits of this are many, but the most noticeable is the continuity of rail surface. An optic placed anywhere on the rail will be centered on the receiver.
It has a non-reciprocating charging handle on the left side of the gun. PSA has plans to build an ambidextrous version of the upper as well for those who are either left-handed or simply want the ambi option. This upper is ideal for tactical and hunting purposes. It is also much more maneuverable in tight conditions. In addition, the receiver itself is built out of 7075-T6 aluminum and has a hard-coated anodized finish.
Thus, it is wear and tear-resistant, as well as being highly durable and lightweight. The .300 Blackout is based off of a shortened 5.56x45mm case that is necked to .30 caliber. For AR-15 platform rifles and pistols it only requires changing the barrel to go from 5.56 to .300 Blackout. The Blackout's main purpose is to be used at subsonic velocities in suppressed firearms. By the way, if you are wondering the difference between a handguard and a forend, the particular part name has to do with whether or not the specific piece of furniture is just for support or to protect your hand from burns. In the case of the AR platform, it is a handguard.
There is no rule that says you cannot run both subsonic and supersonic ammo in the same mag. So imagine whitetail deer hunting in thick brush with the first round or two being subsonic and the rest being supersonic. It should go without saying that a 30 caliber subsonic suppressed round with a 200 meter range should have endless uses. But let's put a finer point on that protection thing.
